Tucker Green loved words and enjoyed studying their origins and deeper meanings. So, it is an irony that words really cannot express how much this man of great heart, infinite kindness, and utmost integrity will be missed.

Tucker loved helping students study math. Always dedicated to the highest standards of the tutoring profession, Tucker would often prepare for two hours reviewing complex math, such as calculus, before meeting with a student who needed help on specific types of problems. He also bought textbooks on his own to keep up with the latest best practices in the field of math.

Tucker loved Shelley Epstein. They met in the early 2000’s when Shelley answered Tucker’s ad in the Alibi romance section. Tucker commemorated that beautiful moment at Gecko’s when they first greeted each other. He would sit at the same table and order the same drink on that anniversary every year after Shelly passed on. He kept up other traditions he and Shelley enjoyed together, such as rounding up books for donation drives during certain holidays.

Tucker loved playing sports, especially pairs and matches. He enjoyed racquetball, pickle ball, and tennis. But his greatest joy was in the comradery of the community of players. He devoted times every week to meet his friends for sports.

Tucker loved helping people. Whether it was rebuilding the engine of a friend’s car sitting on blocks, bringing tools over to modify something to make it work or work better, or being a kind, generous, and caring support to a friend, co-worker, or loved one in their time of need, Tucker was there for us all.

Tucker loved animals and would faithfully care for a friend’s pets, always going above and beyond the necessities of food and water to spend quality time giving treats, love, head scratches, and tummy rubs. He also spent every day enjoying the company of his faithful kitty companions, Raj and Fly.

Tucker loved learning and was an avid reader. He regularly enjoyed literature, news, satire, commentary, and the wisdom of opening thought to new ideas and different opinions. He was always exploring, studying, and enthusiastically sharing words, books, and articles that he found fascinating.

Tucker was loved by everyone whose life he touched with his extraordinary gifts of intelligence, wit, wisdom, and grace. Thank you, Tucker, for the grand ride we all shared with you, our dear, dear friend and colleague.
