Trevor W. Flint
Colonel Trevor Wayne Flint, United States Air Force, Retired, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. He was born November 24, 1967, in Joplin, MO.
As a young man, Trevor traveled the world with his family and lived in Spain, Germany, Laramie, WY, and Colorado Springs, CO, before finding his way back home to Mississippi for his high school years. Trevor is a graduate of Pascagoula High School, Pascagoula, MS, and Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS. Trevor was commissioned into the Air Force in 1992 and headed to Minot AFB for his first official assignment, where he soon met Deanna. He chased her for years, finally marrying on August 14, 2004, in Chico Hot Springs, MT. They made their first home together in Omaha, NE, where he was stationed at Offutt AFB. They quickly moved one year later to Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs, CO.
Trevor's heart was forever changed when Davis Wayne was born on June 19, 2007. He moved his family to FE Warren AFB in Cheyenne, WY, when Davis was 6 months old. His heart grew again when William Aubrey was born on April 4, 2011. The Flint 4 was now complete. Trevor moved his family again to Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL, back to FE Warren AFB, and finally to Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. Trevor retired from active duty in July 2019, surrounded by family and friends.
Trevor was - from his Pascagoula football or baseball jersey, Mississippi State hat, hunting waders, Air Force uniforms, or right down to his "Pond" overalls - THE REAL DEAL. He made a strong, positive impact on everyone who ever had the joy of knowing him. His kindness was contagious, and he treated everyone like they were someone. He was someone always looked up to and admired by his family and friends and was a hero to his children.
As a father and as a community participant, he was a staunch leader and supporter of the youth baseball and hockey programs in the Albuquerque area. He found the best time of the day was watching his boys and their teams practice or compete. He was also an avid hunter and longtime member of Ducks Unlimited. He could patiently wait all morning in the duck blind with his beloved friends for those birds to come in.
As a USAF Commander, he truly loved his airmen, civilians, and the ICBM mission. He cared deeply for everyone and had one of the kindest hearts you could ever know. Trevor epitomized the values and traits that make Americans and true patriots great. He always strove to be kind, fair, decent, and open-minded with everyone. And he was always able to laugh with you, whether you saw eye to eye on something or not.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna Lee Chilson Flint; his sons, Davis Wayne Flint and William Aubrey Flint; his parents, Lee Wayne and Shirley B. Flint; his brother, Galen K. Flint; his father- and mother-in-law, Mike and Diane Chilson; his sisters-in-law, Theresa Brooks, Sara Rufli, and Jana Julian and their families; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. Trevor was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.W. and Fannie Lee Flint and Denver and Linnie Napp; and his uncles Phillip Flint and Ronnie Flint.
