Traci L. Chavez, 63, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025. Born on May 23, 1962, in New Castle, PA, she was the beloved daughter of George and Mary Jo Dudash, both of whom preceded her in death. Traci’s life was one of compassion, generosity, and unwavering kindness. Her selfless spirit led her to dedicate many years to working with the American Red Cross, where her caring nature uplifted the lives of countless individuals during their moments of greatest need. Beyond this work, Traci was deeply committed to supporting elderly and injured patients in obtaining both long-term respite care and short-term rehabilitation. With her gentle spirit, she consistently brought comfort to families navigating challenging times in their lives.
Traci’s family was the center of her world. She and her loving husband, Eugene Chavez, shared a life built on love, laughter, and mutual understanding. Known for her sweet personality and genuine warmth, Traci always prioritized those she loved dearly, she poured her love into her roles as aunt and godmother, cherishing time spent with her niece, nephews, and godson, making lifelong memories that her family will forever treasure.
To know Traci was to love her. Friends and family alike remember her as someone who brought brightness into every room with her contagious smile and joyous laughter. Her empathetic heart, comforting presence, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of others left an indelible impact on all fortunate enough to have known her.
She is survived by her devoted husband Eugene Chavez, Sister-in-law Andrea Glover, Brother in-law Derek Glover, her niece Phoenix, nephews-Griffin and Jesse, godson Asher, and many close family members and friends who deeply mourn her passing. Though Traci has departed, the memory of her beautiful soul remains as a lasting gift to all who knew her. Her loving spirit and compassionate heart will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
A small family gathering/celebration will held at French’s Funeral Home, with a funeral service to be held at a later date in Cimarron, NM.

friends can gather to share memories and honor her remarkable legacy.
