Timothy "Tim" Jude Mirabal

October 8, 1953 — February 17, 2020

Timothy Mirabal, 66, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went to be with our Lord on Monday, February 17, 2020, after a long and hard battle with pancreatic cancer. He entered this world on Thursday, October 8, 1953, in Albuquerque, NM, born to Manuel and Tita Mirabal. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Mirabal of 46 years; daughters, Shannon Delgado, Alisha Blair and husband, Lukas Blair, and Amanda Lindell and husband, Michael Lindell; seven grandchildren, Breana Delgado, Dylan Blair, Ryan Blair, Isaac Delgado, Cailyn Blair, Justin Blair, and Timothy Lindell; special mention of his niece/fourth daughter, Samantha Hunt; and mother, Tita Mirabal. Timothy loved to spend time at his cabin, golfing with his friends, fixing anything he could, and most of all being a grandpa and family man.

Timothy was born and raised in Albuquerque and called it home for all of his life. He met and fell in love with Jennie, during their sophomore year at Del Norte High School. They were high school sweethearts and married for 46 years. Timothy was an Electrical Engineer with Sandia National Labs for over 30 years. Once he retired in 2012, if he was not at home he was up at the cabin, “El Encanto De Mirabal” in Cuba, NM. This was where he kept busy working on the cabin, cutting down trees, and making many friends up at the Wetherill Properties. He had a true love for the peace that the mountains brought him and his wife. Golfing was a second hobby, and he would spend every Tuesday golfing with his longtime friends. Being a grandpa was his ultimate joy. He loved his grandkids immensely and would do everything he could to make them laugh or spend time teaching them. Whether it was changing oil in the car, throwing the football, or cooking dinner, he was proud of his family. Timothy was the middle of seven children with his brothers, Jim Mirabal and wife, Margie Mirabal, Joe Mirabal and wife, Jacky Mirabal, Dan Mirabal, departed brother, Tommy Mirabal, and David Mirabal and wife, Teri Mirabal; sister, Nadine Clark and husband, Kerry Clark; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE in Albuquerque.

The family would like to extend special heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center at the Rust Medical Center in Albuquerque. They were truly compassionate and caring during his many visits and treatments.
