Theresa Angela Domenici Menicucci, 102 years, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 18, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Theresa is the last remaining of the 8 children of Antonio (Tony) and Emma (Giomi) Domenici, having been born in Albuquerque on October 15, 1923.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Mario J. Menicucci, and her son-in-law, Russell Morris, and her 7 siblings and their spouses: Ida Matteucci and husband Albert; George Domenici and wife Jean: Tony Domenici and wife June; Lawrence Domenici and wife Francis; Robert Domenici and wife Catherine; Charlie Domenici and wife Barbara; and Lily Tomasi and husband John. She was also preceded by her aunts and uncles of the Giomi family and by her in-laws of the Arrigoni and Stein families.

She is survived by her 6 children: Gemma Morris; Roberta Menicucci; John and Muffin Menicucci; Mark and Susie Menicucci; Laura and Danny Miller; and Philip and Susan Menicucci.

In addition, she is survived by 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

After spending five years in Italy in the early 1930’s during the depression (at Nonno Girolamo’s home in Marlia) with most of her family, she returned to Albuquerque to attend St. Vincent’s Academy. At age 11, she had forgotten all her English. She graduated at the top of her class of fourteen in 1941.

She had a scholarship to attend a college in Cincinnati, Ohio, run by the Sisters of Charity, from St Vincent’s Academy, but as World War II was breaking out, and her older brothers were called to duty, she went to work with her father at the Montezuma Wholesale Grocery at the corner of First and Lomas.

After the war she married her childhood friend, Mario John Menicucci, on June 8, 1948.

In March of 1950, they purchased a new home on the far eastern outskirts of Albuquerque just off the intersection of Lomas and Morningside Drive NE.

This would be her family home for the next 76 years.

Over the years, Mom has been the ultimate homemaker, cooking countless meals, especially Italian, keeping the house clean and orderly, tending to all her children’s school and family needs. She was an avid bridge player and to her last days could hold her own in a foursome.

She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, a member of Our Lady of Fatima Women’s Guild and a member of Casa Angelica Auxiliary since the inception of Casa Angelica. And in her later years attended Annunciation Catholic Church with her children.

Theresa and Mario were always very supportive of many charitable causes and organizations in the Albuquerque community and helped many families in times of need. Mario passed away in November of 2014, and Mom continued to live independently in the family home.

She enjoyed seeing her 6 children, 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to especially thank her wonderful caregivers who came to her home every day: Tania and Mary Ann. And special thanks to Nurse Melanie and her aides, Leticia, Hope, and Ruby.

Visitation will be at 5:30 pm and Rosary will be recited at 6 pm on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at French Funeral Home Lomas Chapel on 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, 87112.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Our Lady of Annunciation Church, 2621 Vermont St. NE 87110.

Burial will follow immediately after Mass at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102.
