Teresa Maryann Garcia Archuleta, 68, a beloved resident of Edgewood, New Mexico, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 21, 2025.
Teresa was born on March 4, 1957, in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, to Jose and Dometillia Garcia. She was a devoted mother to her three children — Ann (Renee), Julian, and Johnny — and built a life centered around family, love, and faith.
On January 4, 2010, Teresa married the love of her life, Salomon Archuleta Jr., in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Together, they shared countless adventures — dancing, camping, and making precious memories with family and friends.
Teresa had a deep love for children and devoted much of her life to a career in childcare. She was known for her nurturing heart, patience, and the joy she brought to every child in her care. Outside of work, she found happiness in baking, crafting, and cherishing time with her family. In her later years, she especially treasured watching her great-grandchildren play and spending peaceful days surrounded by her loved ones — including her “zoo” of chickens, squirrels, and rabbits that entertained her from outside her window.
There are so many words to describe Teresa: strong, passionate, faithful, caring, forgiving, fierce, creative, thoughtful, and nurturing. She truly made a difference in every life she touched.
Teresa was preceded in death by her loving husband Salomon Archuleta; her parents; her brothers Raymond, Albert, and Ernie; and her sister Rosalie Garcia. She is survived by her children, Renee Garcia, Julian Garcia, and Johnny Garcia; her sisters Mary (George) Lopez and Gloria (Pat) Romero; her brothers Valentin Garcia, Robert Garcia, Jake (Doris) Garcia, Dan (Cindy) Gomez, and Johnny Ray Cordova; five grandchildren — Eddie Lucero, Echo Enellen, Seleste Garcia, Gabriel Garcia, and Maya Garcia; and five great-grandchildren — Luna Gonzales, Nick Gonzales, Peter Gonzales, Samuel Garcia, and Adelyne Garcia — along with many more family members and friends who loved her deeply.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at French Funeral Homes.
Teresa will be remembered for her unconditional love, strength, and the light she brought to every life she encountered. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
