Listen to Obituary

On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, Teddy Lloyd George entered the presence of our Lord at the age of 93, in Albuquerque, NM.

Born in Tipton, Oklahoma, in 1933, to Charles and Emma George, his family moved to Albuquerque in his youth. In 1954, he met the love of his life, Madeleine, and they married August 21, 1955. Ted and Madeleine shared 67 years in marriage and raised their family in the South Valley of Albuquerque. They retired to Sandia Vista Senior Living, where Teddy lived out his life. He was well-liked, had many friends there, and especially enjoyed "Wine Down Wednesday" and social events.

With an 8th-grade education, Teddy enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and was signed in by his mother. Teddy served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1972 and was a true patriot, proud to serve his country. He received the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, China Service Medal, and the Korean Service Ribbon for his service during the Korean War. During his time in the Navy, he lived in San Diego, Panama, Texas, South Carolina, and Virginia Beach, VA, and served on many ships. He retired from the military as an E-6, 1st Class Petty Officer, then moved back to where he grew up, Albuquerque. After his military retirement, Teddy worked at the Bernalillo County Jail as the head cook and baker. In his retirement, he enjoyed baking, woodworking, learning computers, photography, and traveling.

He is survived by his daughter Theresa and husband Lonnie; sons Aaron and Myron (wife Lisa); daughter Ava and husband Joe; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; nephew David, his wife Shelly, and their daughters, Rebecca and Rachel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Madeleine, in 2023, his sister Ruth, and his parents Charles and Emma.

A small celebration of life will be held at 10:00 on August 21, 2026, at Sandia Vista Senior Living, 500 Paisano St. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87123. Ted and Madeleine will be interred together at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
