The family of Stephen Douglas Jacobson is deeply saddened to announce his passing on October 10, 2026. Steve, as he preferred to be called, was born on August 29, 1950 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to George and Marjorie Jacobson. Steve will be dearly missed by his family, who surrounded him when he passed.
Steve served in the Army from 1970 to 1971. While still in high school, Steve began what would become a lifelong career in the food and beverage industry. He was the Food & Beverage Director of prominent hotels like the Sheraton and Radisson, with his favorite position for over 10 years at the Heavenly Valley Resort in Lake Tahoe. He was admired, respected and loved by both his employees and his superiors. His dream in retirement was to move back to Lake Tahoe to soak in the beauty and environment and to be around the many people who called him friend.
He came back to Albuquerque to be with his family when he retired. He was always willing to help everyone with anything, which in turn created even more friends in his neighbors and those around him.
Steve is survived by his son Jason and daughter-in-law Chris in Stoddard, WI, son Joshua, brother Larry and his wife Diane in Spokane, WA, sister Dorothy and her husband Edward (Eddie) in Albuquerque, NM, and sister Debra and her husband Robert (Bob) in Boise, ID.
