Stephanie Newton passed away on October 20, 2026 at the age of 65. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Stephanie lived a life defined by compassion, generosity, and an unwavering love for others. Stephanie had a beautiful and unique way of seeing the world. She saw goodness where others saw flaws, found compassion where others might have passed judgment, and believed in people even when they struggled to believe in themselves. She viewed the world not simply as it was, but as she believed it could be-with more kindness, more understanding, and more love. A caretaker at heart, Stephanie loved deeply and selflessly, often putting the needs of her family and friends before her own. She had an extraordinary gift for bringing people together and making everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved. Her generous spirit and unwavering compassion were reflections of her faith and the love of God she carried in her heart.

Stephanie is survived by her loving husband, Shaun Newton; her father, Willis Orion Whitney and step-mother, Hedi Whitney; her daughter, Elizabeth Ashton (Mark Lovato); her beloved grandson, Jaxson McBride and his father, Andrew McBride; her soon-to-be granddaughter, Leah Lovato; her sisters, Debbie Edwards, Jennifer Johnson (Larry Johnson), and Valerie Silva; her step-sister, Brenda Allen; and dozens of nieces and nephews, along with countless friends whose lives were touched by her kindness. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Whitney; her brothers, Lawrence Whitney and Randy Whitney; her step-brother, Ritchie Cannon; and her beloved best friend, Cindy Proctor.

Stephanie's greatest legacy will not be measured by what she accomplished or possessed, but by the love she gave and the lives she touched. She reminded us to look beyond imperfections, to find the good in others, and to always lead with compassion. The world was a better place because Stephanie was in it, and it will never be quite the same without her. While our hearts are heavy, we find peace knowing she is resting in the loving arms of the Lord. Her beautiful spirit will live on through those she loved, and we hold tightly to God's promise that, through Him, we will meet again.
