Shirley Jane Brown

Shirley Jane Brown (Kingery) of North Oak, Minnesota, passed away at 104 on March 20, 2026. Shirley was born May 18, 1921 in Worthington, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 70 years, Erwin W. Brown (2013). She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Daniel Engen); her son, William Brown; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Shirley was known for her deep spiritual Christian faith and love for quoting scripture. She enjoyed gardening, was an excellent cook, avid painter, took pleasure in traveling and hunting the world with her husband, Erwin and never missed a chance to be in the warm sun. She could always be heard humming a tune or singing a song, which would involuntarily be stuck on loop in anyone's mind that was around her!

Shirley spent the last eight years of her life living in Albuquerque, NM. Six of which she spent in the loving care of her granddaughter, Gail (Eric Gilmore), treasuring the company of four of her great-grandchildren. Her final two years were spent at Casitas Senior Living, where she was loving adopted by staff as "granny" and passed away there peacefully.
