Sherry Piperno

Sherry Piperno, age 64, our beloved mother and dear friend passed away on April 9, 2018. She served as a social worker with the Senior Affairs Department for the city of Albuquerque for over 30 years, working to improve the lives of many. She also served as a volunteer launch director for The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta for 42 years. She cared deeply for the welfare of animals and volunteered for numerous animal rescue groups. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church on High St. She was preceded in death by parents, Morris and Leona Piperno; and is survived by son, Ivan Piperno of Albuquerque; other relatives in Wisconsin; and many dear friends and coworkers.

A funeral service to commemorate her life will be held this morning, Thursday April 12, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 308 High St. Albuquerque. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE. A reception will follow the interment service at the church hall.
