Listen to Obituary

On Thursday, January 1, 2026, Sharon Louise Gorman, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, godmother and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 after a courageous battle with a dementia-related illness. Sharon's warmth, wit, and wisdom touched the lives of many people throughout her life.

Sharon was born on September 3, 1942, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Marvin and Eleanor (With) Bezemek. She grew up alongside her sister, Marcella (Bezemek) Farmer, and remained a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. She graduated from Highland High School and attended the University of New Mexico before embarking on a distinguished career at Sandia National Laboratories.

Growing up in the 1950s, Sharon embraced the era's vibrant culture. She listened to Elvis Presley, cruised through Frank's Drive-In with friends, and enjoyed meals at Mac's Steak in the Rough. Those simple joys, filled with music, laughter, and a love of community, remained cherished memories throughout her life.

At the age of 20, Sharon married Edward Albert Gorman, with whom she shared 20 years of marriage and three wonderful children: Annette Gorman, Michael Gorman (Anna Lopez), and Catherine Gorman. She was a devoted grandmother to Natalie Kellner (Jeffery Kellner) and Amanda Gorman (Ryan Becker), and a proud great-grandmother to Milo Jeffery Kellner. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.

Sharon's life was a reflection of kindness, faith, and service to others. A devoted Catholic, she was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Fatima Church and dedicated much of her time to delivering communion to those unable to attend Mass. She found joy in simple pleasures-walking her dog, chatting with neighbors, and helping anyone in need. Long before it became commonplace, Sharon quietly cared for the less fortunate, always thinking ahead and doing what she could to support others.

She was honest, hardworking, and unassuming, yet she left an indelible mark on those who knew her. Sharon was independent until her final years, a steadfast role model, and a treasured friend. She carried herself with grace, never harboring resentment, even when faced with challenges.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Care Free Living, who provided Sharon with comfort and dignity in her final days.

A funeral service will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. All who knew her are welcome to pay their respects. Flowers are welcome, or donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
