Sharen Seu Hart, a beloved mother and cherished member of her music and gardening community, passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on January 10, 1942, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Sharen's life was a vibrant tapestry of love, creativity, and service. Residing in Louisiana for many years, she exemplified the spirit of the South-warm, generous, and full of life. Sharen was preceded in death by her father Colonel William G. 'Bill' McClanahan; mother Beverly (Stamp) Bell McClanahan; and brother retired US Navy Reserve Captain Michael McClanahan (Joanne). She is survived by her son Brett G. Hart (Michelle) and granddaughter, Isabelle Burris, of Seattle, WA; stepdaughter Silky Hart (Tom Michero) of McKinney, TX; stepson Jimmy Hart of Albuquerque, NM; her partner Steve Rubio of Albuquerque, NM; nephew Erin McClouse (Stacy) of Atlanta, GA; and nephew Ryan McClanahan (Otylia) of Washington, DC.

A loving mother, Sharen dedicated her life to nurturing and fostering her children's growth, instilling in them the values of kindness and perseverance. She approached every challenge with witty humor and a sound mind that inspired those around her. Her life was marked by an unwavering commitment to her family and community, evidenced by her active participation in local events and organizations.  Sharen's passion for gardening brought her joy, as did her love for the arts. A gifted pianist and singer with Sweet Adelines, she enchanted those fortunate enough to hear her beautiful voice. She found great pleasure in the musical landscapes of New Mexico, often attending performances and exploring the rich cultural heritage of the state.

As a journalist, Sharen had a keen eye for detail and a profound understanding of human stories, making her contributions invaluable to her field. Her dedication to education extended beyond her career; she often read to foster children, sharing her love of literature and igniting a passion for knowledge. As an avid supporter of Louisiana State University, she was a proud member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, and her loyalty to her alma mater remained steadfast throughout her life. Her faith as a Presbyterian Christian provided her with strength and comfort, guiding her through both joyous and challenging times. Sharen had a penchant for celebrating life-the phrase "Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler" ('Let the Good Times Roll') encapsulated her joyful approach to existence. She adored yellow roses, and her favorite color was a reflection of her sunny disposition. Those who knew Sharen will always remember her bright blue eyes and her ability to light up any room she entered. Sharen Seu Hart leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion that will never be forgotten. Her zest for life and unwavering spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross her path. Sharen will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love her, and to be loved by her.

A celebration of life will be held at Sandia Presbyterian Church, Sunrise Chapel, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Saturday, May 16, 2026, beginning at 12noon. Sharen will be interred with her parents at the Highland Memory Gardens cemetery in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
