It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the tragic loss of our beloved, Sean, who was taken from us far too soon at the young age of 39.
Sean was a son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, and friend. He lived each day with purpose-to protect and serve others.
He will forever be remembered for his strength, his unwavering loyalty, his humor, and his fiercely protective heart. Regardless of where you fit into Sean's story, he was someone you could always count on to answer the call.
Sean was deeply devoted to his country. After graduating high school, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He continued his commitment to protecting and serving others throughout his career as an Army Reservist, Corrections Officer, and later in Federal Security.
Though Sean is no longer with us on earth, we find comfort in imagining him standing watch in Valhalla-watching over those he loved, shining as a light in the night sky, and stepping forward as a guardian angel whenever he is needed.
Sean is survived by his parents, Deborah McBride and Sean O'Mara Sr.; his sisters, Amanda Tom and Keara Porter; and their children, Reese, Claire, Cooper, and Ava. He is also survived by his grandmother, Patricia O'Mara; his aunt and uncle, Amy Borkstrom and Terry O'Mara; and his cousin, Emma Borkstrom.
He was also deeply loved by his blended family, including Dave McBride and Kelly O'Mara; siblings Kerrie McGurin, Meagan Weisz, and Tyler Weisz; their children, Brody, Harper, Haylee, Hannah, Lorelai, and Ryder; and his in-laws, Sheri Pearson, Jeff Borkstrom, Ming Tom, Mike McGurin, and Samantha Weisz.
Sean leaves behind a legacy of service, loyalty, laughter, love, and protection. His presence touched countless lives, and the space left by his absence can never truly be filled.
May we honor Sean not only by remembering the man he was, but by carrying forward the values he lived by. May his loss inspire us to renew our commitment to protecting those in need, strengthening the resources available to those who call for help, and holding ourselves-and those entrusted to protect others, accountable. Sean would have demanded nothing less. He spent his life believing that people deserved to be protected.
Until we meet again, Sean, stand watch over us. You will always be loved, always be remembered, and never be forgotten.
Sempi Fidelis!
