Santiago Placido Peña

Our dear departed dad, grandpa, special friend and soon to be great-grandpa, Santiago Placido Peña, born July 26, 1941, passed away on May 15, 2026.

He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Andrews, Tammy Salazar; and his grandsons, Andrew and Delano Andrews and Marcelino Peña (fiancé, Alicia Cruz); he is also survived by his step-sister, Tina Martinez and her husband, Gilbert; his niece, Rachel Marquez and her husband, Andrew and girls, Lyla and Gracie Marquez who he loved so much and they loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis V. Peña and Guadalupe Peña; and his former wife, Renata Peña.

He served in Vietnam and received many awards; he was stationed in Germany. He was a member of New Heights Baptist Church where he had many friends, he loved attending his church and talking to Pastor David Reyes and Deacon Caleb Funchess who were very special to him. Santiago loved all types of music, especially oldies. He will be forever missed by his family.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, with a visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at New Heights Baptist Church, 5300 Iliff Rd NW - Albuquerque, NM 87105. The graveside service will be at 1:15 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
