Sandra Leigh Tyler

Sandra Tyler never met a person she didn't like, and rarely let anyone leave without a smile and a witty comment. She passed away on October 15, 2026, leaving her family with hearts full of love, countless stories, and a few good lines they'll never deliver quite as well as she did.

For 60 years, Sandra shared her life with her husband, Wayne Tyler. Together, they built a family that includes daughters Jennifer McGuire and Mella Morrison and grandchildren Lauren, Ryan, Hero, and Madigan. To her family, she was Mom and Nana, titles that came with plenty of love, laughter, and the occasional perfectly timed wisecrack.

Sandra earned a PhD in sociology, but you didn't need a degree to understand her approach to people: find something to like, offer a little kindness, and give them a reason to smile. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, whether she had known them for decades or had just met them.

She was smart, funny, generous with her affection, and simply the most amazing mom and grandmother. We will miss her everyday conversations, her smile, and the comments that could catch us off guard and leave us laughing. We suspect we'll be saying, "Mom would have had something to say about that," for the rest of our lives.

Please join us to celebrate Sandra's life on November 7, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at 255 E La Entrada, Corrales, New Mexico. Stop by with a favorite story, a happy memory, or one of her best one-liners. There will be love, there may be tears, and there will certainly be laughter. She gave us plenty to work with.
