Sandra "Sandrea" Gonzales

Sandi “Sandrea” Gonzales, beloved mother of Sabrina, passed peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the age of 76. 

Sandi was a dedicated member of her community, from creating the Sabrina Single Parents Scholarship Fund during her time as the Director of the UNM’s Women’s Resource Center, to helping found WIMIN, Women in Movement, to taking students to Mexico to learn about Curanderismo. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Emma & Richard Gonzales. Survived by her daughter, Sabrina Smith, brothers, Jim & Richard Gonzales, sisters in law Shelly Gonzales & Kathy Lynch, nieces, Kalie, Catherine, Jennifer, Christina, & Trisha, nephews, Chris & Troy, great nieces Emma & Lani, and great nephew Zane. As well as so many comrades and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026, at Church of the Risen Savior, viewing at 9:00am, mass at 10:00am with reception to follow at French Funeral's on Wyoming Boulevard.
