Sandra Kay Casper

May 5, 1947 — April 18, 2023

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Sandra Kay Casper at the age of 75 years.

Sandra spent her long career as a licensed Nursing Home Administrator working with dedication to improve the conditions for those elderly patients in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She worked in many states including South and North Carolina, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, Tennessee and New Mexico.

She leaves behind her two sons, Todd and Mathew Casper. She worked hard and was a good mother and provider who loved both of her sons dearly. She also leaves behind her husband, Richard Moutz who shared their lives together for 23 years. The two of them travelled extensively and experienced many adventures together. Most of their 23 years together were
spent on the Island of Folly Beach, South Carolina where they had many, many friends both on Folly Beach and in the greater Charleston area. Her most recent home was in Placitas, New Mexico where they lived in the shadow of the Sandia Mountains. Also left behind are Richards 4 daughters who admired Sandy and loved her deeply as well, Elizabeth Cross, Leah Williams, Rebekah Tedrick-Moutz and Anna Tedrick-Moutz, along with their children, Van and Simona Williams and Wilamina Cross

She was also an animal lover with a fondness for her favorite breed, Shetland Sheep dogs. She donated frequently to Placitas Wild Horse Advocates and the New Mexico Wolf Sanctuary. She and her husband were also members of the historic KKBE synagogue in Charleston, South Carolina and the location of their wedding on June 3, 2001. Her parents were Tom and Ruth Sampson of Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Because her mother died when Sandy was only 5 years old, she was raised by her grandmother, Molly Snowberry. Sandra had no siblings.

A Celebration of her Life gathering will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., hosted by Mark and Carol Antman and Bob and Lila Trussler at the Antman Residence at 1714 Ion Avenue on Sullivans Island South Carolina.
