Sally Lynne Cleland, beloved matriarch, mother, grandmother (great, great) and friend, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on January 19, 1938, in Des Moines, Iowa, Sally lived a full and meaningful life defined by her deep love for her family, her sharp wit, and her generous heart.

While attending Highlands University, she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Cleland and together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, hard work, and unwavering devotion. After raising 4 children, Sally returned to college and proudly graduated from UNM at the same time as her son Bill - an accomplishment she treasured deeply.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Betty Cline; her beloved husband Bill Cleland; her sister Candy Cline Daughtry; her daughters, Veva Hanstad and Lori Barton, and her grandson, Dustin Barton.

She is survived by her sons, William (Bill) Cleland (Kricket) and Joseph (Joe) Cleland (Colleen); her sons-in-law Dann Hanstad (Veva) and Kevin Barton (Lori), eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Sally will always be remembered for her captivating storytelling, infectious laugh, deep love for her family and her Angels Club, and her unmistakable "tell-it-like-it-is" spirit. Her warmth, humor, and honesty made her the heart of every gathering, and her legacy will live on through the generations who love her.
