Ruth Payne

Ruth Payne, age 90, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Ruth started as a 6th grade teacher and then moved to Middle School English and Social Studies at seven different APS schools. Ruth was great at embroidery and produced many baby blankets and table cloths. Ruth was a member of the Charles Dibrell Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Payne and her sons, Scott and Russell. Ruth is survived by her daughter Sandra Payne Daffron, son-in-law David Daffron and grandchildren Nathan Daffron of Perth, Australia, Ben Daffron of Albuquerque, NM; and Julie Daffron Frieb of Washington, DC.

A Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 4 PM at French Funeral Home on Wyoming. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at La Vida Llena, 10501 Lagrima de Oro Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111, on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 10 AM. Ruth will be transported to Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11 AM on Thursday, May 23, 2024 to join her husband Kenneth J. Payne.
