Ruth Elaine Glauner, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2026.
For 77 years, Ruth shared a remarkable journey of marriage with the love of her life, Tommy Glauner. Together, they created a family and a lifetime rich with love, laughter, faith, and treasured memories that will be passed down through generations.
Ruth was spirited, humorous, loving, and truly unforgettable. Her vibrant personality could light up any room, and her generous heart made everyone around her feel deeply cared for. She had a special gift for making people laugh, speaking her mind with honesty, and making those she loved feel uniquely valued.
Among her many talents, Ruth was a celebrated quilter and seamstress. She crafted stunning pieces not only with exceptional skill but with profound love. Each stitch held a part of her spirit, and the quilts she leaves behind will continue to tell her story and envelop her family in warmth and affection.
Ruth also possessed a green thumb that brought life and beauty to her gardens. She took great pride in nurturing her flowers and plants, much like she nurtured those around her. In the kitchen, she was a masterful cook and baker. Some of the family's most cherished moments were spent gathered around her table, sharing meals made with love.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. As a founding member of St. Luke's Church, she helped build a place of worship and community that touched many lives. Her faith, generosity, and dedication to others remain a lasting part of her legacy.
Ruth's greatest legacy is the family she loved so deeply, enriched by a lifetime of beautiful gifts: quilts sewn with care, gardens tended with patience, recipes shared with love, and a church built on faith. Through her cooking, stories, and most importantly, her unconditional love, she gifted her children and grandchildren with memories to last a lifetime. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her, forever shaping the family she cherished.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Tommy Glauner, daughter, Deanna Vendel, son and daughter in law, Russ and Lisa Glauner, grandchildren, Carly and Matt George, Gerrod and Robin Glauner, Kristin and Zach Higgins, and Zane Glauner. Great grandchildren, Owen, Grace, Bradley, Bridget, Elizabeth, Dean and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Gar Glauner, her parents, brothers, Don and Melvin, and sisters, June and Barbara.
We'd like to give special thanks to Lily hospice care and Albuquerque Home Care Services for their outstanding care of Ruth. Her memorial service will be held Friday October 16, 2026, at 1:00pm, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9100 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
