Ruth Louise Brito

Our Mother, Ruth Louise Brito took her last breath on October 15, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was blessed with a long life that she devoted to the care of others through nursing, parenting, and her devotion to her family and friends.

She enjoyed a successful career as a Registered Nurse, beginning at Hotel Dieu Hospital in El Paso, Texas, and concluding in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she worked as an agency nurse before retiring in 1992. Throughout her career, she also served in nuclear medicine at Sandia Laboratories and as a duty nurse at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She leaves behind five daughters, Anita, Dolores, Rebecca, Roberta, and Josphine; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alfonso Brito; her parents, Isabel and Salvador Parra; and her brothers, Abie and Salvador "Jr" Parra.

The family wishes to thank Roadrunner Hospice for the loving care they gave our mother as she prepared to transition.

Ruby will be missed by all those she leaves behind. Her calming voice and touch cannot be replaced. While our hearts mourn her loss, we find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with her beloved husband. Her love, warmth, and the sunshine she brought into our lives will remain with us always.

"Kiss me and smile for me, tell me that you'll wait for me. Hold me like you'll never let me go..."

Graveside Services will be held Friday, October 23, 2026, 12:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
