Rosie Chavez

Rosie G. Chavez passed away peacefully at home with her loved ones. She was born on September 4, 1929. She went home to the Lord on March 2, 2024.

She is survived by her husband Ernest O. Chavez of 71 years. She is the daughter of Tomas and Melecia Gallegos. She is preceded in death by six siblings. She is survived by one brother, Andy Gallegos, two daughters, Loretta MacCosbe and Olivia Silva, five grandchildren, Monica Triana and husband Patrick, Adam Armijo and wife Kellie, Matthew Armijo and Courtney, Colin MacCosbe and Bryan MacCosbe, seven great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren.

She was a social butterfly at every event. She was very involved in her church parish and was president of the Women's Guild for five years. She loved making ceramics and rosaries. She also loved to bake, especially biscochitos. She was the sunshine of everyone's day, She will be dearly missed. From her beloved family.


A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, March 12, 2024, 6:00 p.m., at FRENCH - University. A Mass will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2024, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
