Rosemary Schmitt was born July 13, 1935 in Tilden Nebraska, the daughter of Kathryn Morin and Edward Morin. She received her education in the Tilden Public Schools and attended the Lincoln School of Commerce, earning her Private Secretarial Degree in 1954. She worked in Lincoln before marrying Peter Schmitt on February 12, 1956.

Pete took a job with Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, OK in March 1956, and the following year, Rosemary and Pete's son, Jeff was born. In March 1957 their family moved to Aberdeen, MD as Pete had six months active duty for training. Upon their return to Bartlesville, they had another son, Dan, in June 1959.

Rosemary completed college courses and was involved in her community and worked as a teacher's aide in the Bartlesville School System, a secretary at the Education Service Center, and in her retirement as a volunteer at the Bartlesville Community Center for over 20 years. She also did volunteer work for the Bartlesville Symphony Society.

When Pete retired, he and Rosemary traveled to Europe many times and even took a safari to Africa. They traveled frequently to help their family in NE, and Rosemary's mother moved to be near her for the last 5 years of her life.

In 2017, Rosemary and Pete moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to live near Dan and their daughter-in-law Chapel. Rosemary enjoyed having dinner with friends, seeing her granddaughters, and appreciating the southwestern scenery.

Rosemary enjoyed playing bridge and her passion was reading. She had an extensive library with a variety of books. She was also a very serious Bible student.

Rosemary is survived by her husband, Pete, son Jeff and his wife Donna, of Austin TX, son Dan and his wife Chapel of Albuquerque, NM, and granddaughters Sarah and Kristin.
