Listen to Obituary

Rosemary Rita Archuleta, aged 87, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, in Albuquerque, surrounded by the love of her family. Born with a vibrant, creative spirit, Rosemary spent her life bringing beauty into the world through her hands and her heart. A gifted crafter, she found joy in ceramics, sewing, painting, and cake decoration. Over the years, she baked countless specialty cakes, including exquisite wedding cakes for loved ones. For many years, Rosemary partnered with her close friend, Madeline, to organize dozens of school and community craft shows, leaving a lasting mark on her local community. Throughout her life, Rosemary held a deep and particular fondness for her grandfather, Faustin Gonzales, whose memory she cherished. She also deeply valued her lifelong friendship with her high school teacher, Margaret Gonzales, and her husband Eugene (Mr. G), both of whom remained dear to her heart for decades.

Rosemary brought her trademark strength and feisty spirit to the beautiful family she built with her husband, Anibal Archuleta. Together, they walked hand-in-hand through all of life's blessings and challenges over a shared 62-year journey. She was a loving mother to Steven (Gina), Katheryn (Patrick Madrid), and Timothy (Tony). She was also a proud grandmother who held a special love in her heart for each of her grandchildren: Lucia, Cruz, Gabriel, Cristian, and Carlos; and her step-grandchildren, Mariah and Jordan. In recent years, she took great joy in welcoming her great-grandchild, Camille. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, artistic inspiration, and cherished memories.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Gabriel; and her siblings, Lola Saiz, Ray Carrillo, Albert Carrillo, Gibby Carrillo, and Jimmy Carrillo. She is survived by her devoted husband, Anibal; her children and their spouses; her four surviving grandchildren; her step-grandchildren; and her great-grandchild, Camille. She is also survived by her siblings, Irene Carmona, Anthoney Carrillo, and Lindy Lucero; and fondly remembered by her extended family, Marcella Romero, and Cora and Eloy Vigil and family.
