Our beloved mother peacefully ascended into heaven on February 4, 2016 following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Eloy D. Chavez; and her daughter, Veronica Ann Chavez. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Willie B. and Veronica Gonzales.
Our mom was a devout catholic as she served as president of the peoples Eucharistic League and Member of the Blue Army. She was an Apostolate of the Blessed Sacrament and Commissioned by Saint John the XXIII. She was a parishioner of San Felipe De Neri church. Mom was a champion dancer, a great bowler and one of the finest culinary artists in the kitchen which she was so proud of. She had a great work ethic as she says her two best jobs were at FW Woolworths and GTE Lenkurt/Siemens.
Rose is survived by her sons, Eloy Jr. (wife Betsy) of Tulsa, OK and Robert W. Chavez. She is also survived by her five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mom has left a great absence in this world which will never be filled.
A private rosary and mass has already been held at Immaculate Conception Church and entombment has already taken place all arranged by FRENCH - University per her wishes. Her family wishes to thank her pallbearers: Alfonso Mirabal, Michael Chavez, Adam Chavez, Tomas Chavez, as well as her readers, Regina Puchetti and Juliette Clarke Cain. We would like to thank our great family friend Vicky Lester whose love and friendship for mom was invaluable. We would also like to thank Deacon Don and Father Broussard of the Immaculate Conception Church for their hospitality and honor they bestowed for our mother. We would also like to take this time in thanking the nurses and doctors of Presbyterian hospital fourth floor for the great care of mom during her illness. She is now happy again with her Dolly and Mother. Rest in peace our beloved mother. Love, Eloy and Robert.
