Ronald LeRoy Johnson passed away peacefully to his eternal reward on April 8, 2026. He was born to Emma Mae Seaver and Lynn M. Johnson on July 14, 1930 in Saginaw County, Michigan. He was a fourth generation farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bruce L. Johnson and son-in-law Edward Garcia.

He lived a long, full life and leaves behind a remarkable legacy. He worked as an electrical engineer at Sandia Labs as a special weapons expert for 37 years. He served 4 years in the Air Force. He was involved in the Girl and Boy scouts, coached little league, was a master woodworker and experienced auto mechanic. He piloted small aircraft and deejayed at KUNM, a classical music radio station. He taught himself to play myriad instruments and played his drums at Pepino's Pizza Parlor on Friday nights. He was very involved in Hoffmantown Church where he sang in the choir and volunteered in the video booth.

He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, (Ruth) Arlene Johnson, his sister, Janice Lincoln, his children, Steve Johnson (Laura), Cindy Waterman (Dan), Debbie Lewis (Martin) and Dave Johnson. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Tara Fortune (Jody), Rusty Ratliff (Heather), Nicole Johnson (Hector Garcia-Pardo), Isaac Garcia, Hannah Garcia, Erik Johnson (Katelyn), Caleb Garcia, Benjamin Garcia, Wren Johnson, Pippin Johnson and Sonnet Johnson and 9 great grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

A memorial service for Ronald was held Saturday, April 11th at La Vida Llena. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, on Wednesday, June 17th at 2:30 pm where honors will be rendered for his service to our country.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to La Vida Llena (LVL) Employee Appreciation Fund in Ronald's name.
