Ronald Alan Hetes

Ronald A. Hetes, a resident of Albuquerque since 1975 entered into eternal rest with his savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 5th, was born to Andrew P.Sr. and Anna B. Hetes. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and brothers; Gilbert Hetes, Norbert Hetes, Gerard Hetes, Kenneth Hetes, Daniel Hetes, Michael Hetes; sisters Sharon A. Hetes, Judith Little, Trinita Wentzel; and great grandson Liam Anthony Hetes. Now he is reunited at long last with the great joy of his life, his beloved gray-eyed, Helga. Ron was forever grateful for the love she gave him throughout their married life and for all the things she taught him about self-sacrifice, hard work, humility, charity, spirituality, decency, kindness and love.

Retiring from the U.S. Army Signal Corps, he was a veteran of Vietnam.

His survivors are son Ronald R. Hetes and wife Debra, daughter Ylaine R. Hetes, and granddaughter Jade Hetes, grandson Michael Hetes and wife Rebecca, granddaughter Nichole Benedetto and husband Ryan, four great grandsons, Luke, Jagger, Benjamin, Jack, and great granddaughter Emma Grace. He is also survived by brothers Andrew P. Hetes II, Mark Hetes, and sister Rachael Bailor.

Dad was a remarkable man. He dearly loved his family and was devout in his Roman Catholic faith, praying the Rosary daily. He had an extraordinary sense of humor, witty and clever, and always followed with a wink and a smile. Dad was also gifted with writing poems. Every card he sent to his loved ones always included one of his special poems. He even submitted poems to the newspaper to honor our beloved mother on her birth and passing dates. He was an outstanding cook with a unique flair, with Ylaine serving as his culinary taste-tester.

We love you dad, and you will be sorely missed.

A Visitation will take place Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 10:00 am, followed by Rosary at 10:30am, Mass at 11:00am, at Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Rd NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87114. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetary, 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109
