Rogelio is preceded in death by his parents, Fidel and Refugio Trujillo, siblings: Lena, Marcella, Eddie, Manuel, Emma, and Jerry. As well as his son, Arnold.
Rogelio J.Trujillo was born on September 9, 1933, to Fidel and Refugio Trujillo in Ponderosa, New Mexico. In 1961, Rogelio would marry his wife, Viola Casaus, and they would remain married for 64 years. Shortly after their marriage, Viola and Rogelio had three sons: Gary (Bernadette), Arnold, and Kenneth (Tamara) Trujillo. He would go on to have eight grandchildren: Raymundo, Angelica (Eugene), Antonio, Adriana (Matthew), Dominic, Daniel, Michelle, and Victoria Rae. Rogelio was the cherished patriarch of his family and was adored for his warm and quirky spirit. He was a multifaceted man, known by many names. He was "Roger" to his wife, "dad" to his sons, "grandpa" to his grandchildren, and "Papa" to his
great-grandchildren. Rogelio lived a fulfilled life and gained many accomplishments along the way. Chief Master Sergeant Rogelio Trujillo proudly served in the Air Force and National Guard and retired as one of the highest-ranking enlisted members. Rogelio also raised Arabian show horses and was the president of the Rio Grande Riders club. He not only showed horses, but he also rode in many non-profit events, helping bring awareness to non-profit organizations.
Rogelio enjoyed fishing, hunting, and car rides, but most of all, he loved to have a full house. He loved to be surrounded by family and friends, and he always made sure everyone knew that "his home was their home". In 2011, Rogelio was diagnosed with dementia and was survived by his wife Viola, sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren until his passing. Rogelio loved to tell stories to his grandchildren, give them advice, and always made sure to let them know how proud he was of them. He never failed to let his family know how lucky and blessed he felt.
Rogelio was beyond content with the life he lived despite having dementia for 14 years. One of Rogelio's favorite phrases was "There's no place like home," and at the age of 91 on July 24, 2025, the lord decided it was time for him to return home. Rogelio is deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and he will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
