Robert (Bob) Charles Wilson, age 90, went home to be with his Lord on June 2, 2026. Bob was born August 6, 1935, in Topeka, Kansas to parents, William Fred Wilson and Gladys (Hinken) Wilson. He moved to Albuquerque with his family in 1944. He attended Duranes Elementary School, Washington Junior High, and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1954.

Bob started earning money when he was 12 years old by cutting lawns in his neighborhood. At age 15, he went to work as a sacker for a Safeway grocery store. During high school, he drove a wrecker truck. He served in the New Mexico National Guard from 1952 to April 1959, when he was honorably discharged. As an adult, he spent many years in retail and wholesale sales, retiring August 31, 1997.

He married Betty Jernigan July 6, 1958, at First Baptist Church, Albuquerque, NM. He remained active in his local church throughout his lifetime and served many years as a Deacon at First Baptist Church, Rio Rancho, NM.

He is survived by his sons, Bill and wife Twila Galanis, Charlie and wife Gail, Ted and wife Denna, Kenneth and wife Lisa; six granddaughters, five grandsons, one great-grandson and three great-granddaughters. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Jensen of Strasburg, CO.

Preceding him in death were his older brother, Richard; his parents, William Fred and Gladys (Hinken) Wilson; his wife of 64 years, Betty Wilson; and grandson, Sasha Wilson.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Rio Rancho, 3906 19th Ave SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. The family encourages memorial gifts to the Baptist Children's Home, 2200 S. Ave. I, Portales, NM 88130.
