Robert William Smith

Beloved to all who knew him, Robert William Smith passed away peacefully at his home on June 21, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on November 2, 1934, in New York City, Robert was a dedicated husband, father, and friend, whose warm spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

After serving in the Army for two years in Germany, Robert returned home to New Rochelle to begin a three-decade career with the Bell System. In addition to his profound love for his family, Robert had a passion for sports, particularly as a devoted fan of the New York Giants. After retiring, Robert and his family relocated to Rio Rancho, New Mexico, where he continued to find joy in the beauty of the Southwest. His spirit of adventure and love for life never waned, even as he aged.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William and Eleanor, and his sister, Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia; son, William, and daughter, Ann.

Robert was laid to rest with his family at Assumption Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor, New York.
