Robert L. Will
1939 - 2025
Robert Will passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025 in his home in Rio Rancho, NM, surrounded by family. Born January 22, 1939 in Alma, Michigan, Robert lived in both the lower and upper peninsula of Michigan until his family moved to South Dakota in 1954. Robert graduated from Bowman, North Dakota High School in 1957, and immediately enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Robert also served in the United States Army Reserve for many years, retiring with more than 35 years of military service.
During his retirement Robert was an active member of the Marine Corps League, Civil Air Patrol, Military Officers Association, Masonic Lodge, and Meadowlark Senior Center.
From his early days in Michigan to later years in South Dakota, Nebraska, Indiana, and New Mexico, Robert's journey reflected resilience and quiet strength. Those who knew him will remember a life marked by presence and perseverance. One of his fondest memories was the Bataan Death March Memorial held each year at White Sands Missile Range. He took part in this Memorial in 1995, walking and remembering with his Army Reserve Unit. A few days following his death, Robert's son, Robert C. Will and granddaughter, Sydney A. Keena, also participated in the White Sands Bataan Death March Memorial in his honor as well as to honor those who walked as prisoners.
A cherished father, grandfather, and husband, Robert will be deeply missed by his wife, Arlene; daughter, Victoria (Joel); son, Robert (Jaimie); granddaughter, Sydney Keena (Sam); and great-granddaughters Ellie Irwin and Reagan Keena.
A Memorial will be held at a later date with friends and family in St. Ignace, Michigan.
