Robert Velarde

Robert Joseph Velarde, born on September 11, 1954, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on June 21, 2025, at the age of 70.

A devoted family man, Robert is survived by his beloved spouse, Debra Velarde, and his children, Lauren Velarde (Sean Keeling) and Chase Velarde (Christine Disney) and grandchildren Skylar and Finn McKenzie. He is also survived by his mother, Helen Velarde, his brother, Ron Velarde (Connie) , and brother, Mike Velarde (Kim Ring). He is survived by his extended Velarde family and Sowa family.

Throughout his life, Bob was known for his passion for golf and softball, often spending weekends enjoying these sports with friends and family. He cherished family gatherings, where his cooking skills shone as he prepared meals that brought everyone together. His warmth, humor, and dedication to his family created numerous memorable moments that will be treasured by all who knew him. He was an amazing husband, father, and friend. Bob was a bit of a character with a very limited filter, but that was Bob. Bob's professional life was characterized by his self-employment, where he thrived as an entrepreneur. He was a respected figure in his industry, known for his integrity and commitment to his work. His legacy of hard work and dedication will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was a man of God and truly loved the Lord. He has been reunited with family (and dogs) in heaven. We will meet him in eternity.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3rd at French-Lomas, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, with a visitation at 9:30 a.m. and service starting at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery at 700 Yale Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106
