Robert Arthur Trudo

Robert Arthur Trudo, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, in Edgewood, New Mexico. Born on June 6, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, Robert led a remarkable life filled with passion for engineering, aviation, and family. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, enlisting on July 22, 1958, and achieving the rank of E-4 before his discharge on May 14, 1962.

Robert's career as an electrical engineer flourished at Sandia National Laboratories, where he became known as a pioneering manager and the first to install a fiber optic network there. His dedication to innovation extended to the development of seismic monitoring systems, solidifying his reputation as a leader in his field. He also enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love for technology with his family, particularly through his interests in Star Wars and Star Trek.

As a passionate airplane pilot, Robert found joy in soaring through the skies, which mirrored his adventurous spirit. He achieved the rank of captain in the Albuquerque Civil Air Patrol. He cherished family gatherings, and many memorable moments were spent at La Salita Restaurant, where he shared laughter and good food with his loved ones. He is survived by his daughter Donna Satches, sons Steven and David Trudo, son-in-law Randy Satches, daughter-in-law Jasmine Trudo, and grandchildren Michael, Kara, Tyler, Alix, and Katrina, great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Vivien, Kaden, and Madison, and extended family who will carry his legacy forward.

In celebration of Robert's life, a funeral service will be held at Wyoming Chapel on September 25, 2026, at 1:00 pm, followed by a graveside service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 2:00 pm. The family will welcome attendees for a reception in the Wyoming Reception room starting at 2:30 pm. Family viewing will take place at noon prior to the service. Robert's vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Robert was preceded in death by: Adrienne Trudo, Grace Trudo, John Trudo, Lisa Trudo, John Trudo Jr., Loretta Gorman, Don Gorman, and John Gorman.
