Robert David Romero, age 77, of Taos, New Mexico, and living in Albuquerque for several years, passed away on July 21st, 2026, surrounded by family. Born on May 2nd, 1949, he lived a life rooted in faith, generosity, and a deep love for the outdoors. 

A devoted Catholic, Robert carried his faith quietly but firmly, finding strength and purpose in God, family, and service. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing—an activity that brought him peace and connection with the world around him. He was known for helping friends, family, and anyone who needed a hand, always showing up with kindness and humility.

 Robert is survived by his two children and their families: Victoria Branson and her husband Eric, along with their children Brody and Alexandria. Carl Romero and his wife Sarah, along with their children Davianna, Daniella, Sophia, and Joaquin.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Griselda Martinez, Romero and Elisardo Romero and his brothers Roland, Antonio, Richard, Carl, Albert, Danny, Aurther, Christopher and sister, Rachel. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving brothers and sisters: Steve Romero, Gilbert Romero, John Romero, Michelle Giron, Sylvia Romero, and Cindy Romero, as well as countless nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will be held on July 28th at 2:00 PM at French Mortuary, located at 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. A reception will follow at 3:00 PM at the same location, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Robert’s life. Robert’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched through his generosity, his steady presence, and his deep love for his family. To view to the recorded service click here
