R. Scott Porter

R. Scott Porter, age 71, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 27, 2026. Scott was known for his quiet presence, heart for serving, and his brilliant intellect. He was passionate about working with his hands, playing games, solving puzzles, relaxing on the patio, playing chess, teasing his grandkids, and serving his clients.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; his daughter, Katie (Jeremy) Rodriguez; daughter-in-law, Andrea Porter; and his grandchildren, Jacquelyn Porter, Noah Rodriguez, and Ryan Porter. He is also survived by his siblings, Doug (Rebecca) Porter and Lisa (Tom) Turnipseed.

He leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Robert; mother, Jacqueline; and son, Jimmy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 14th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, 10,000 Spain Rd in Albuquerque.
