On August 26, 1923, one day after our 49th anniversary, Bob Louer sadly passed away quickly in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was one of our favorite places, and while he left this earth far too soon, he passed without pain in a beautiful place that was important to us.
He left behind the love of his life, his wife, Emily; and his two beloved sons, Greg and Mike Louer, along with their wives, Jodi Louer and Kate Louer; their four grandchildren, Ryan, Jacob, Abby, and Jonas; his sister, Janet Louer, whom he loved dearly; and his brother, Charles "Chuck" Louer. Extended, cherished family members include Emily's sister, Debbie Zook, along with her husband, Keith and all their kids and grandchildren - all of whom loved Bob.
Bob was very smart, kind, fun, and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He enjoyed life to its fullest and indulged richly in his passions and hobbies, which included fishing, tennis, pickleball, music, and spending time with his family.
Bob had a successful career in banking, which ultimately brought him to Charlotte, NC at the Bank of America, where he worked tirelessly as a project manager and executive, and then CEO of his own company.
Upon retirement, Bob volunteered along with Emily at non-profit organizations, including significant time with the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Charlotte.
Bob was my "Knight in Shining Armor" and best friend. He will be missed dearly by many.
A small memorial will be announced in time.
In the meantime, if you wish, please plant a tree in his honor, or consider a donation to CMTA (

or ALS Association (
