Robert was preceded in death by his father Earl Cleveland Beighley, his mother Hazel Louise Beighley, brother William, and sister Helen. He passed away on October 12, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Marie, their two children Earl, his wife Marsha, and Ellen, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and graduated with a master’s in journalism. After graduating, and working for Kiwanis International, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was in for two years and served in the Korean War. After he was discharged from the Army he started working for The National Safety Council in Chicago, IL. He worked in their advertising department. The last 25 years of his working life were spent managing the printing department for All American Life Insurance Company in Chicago. When he started working there he was living in Evanston, IL. After meeting his wife and starting a family, they decided that they needed a larger home. So, he and Marie moved into a house in Wilmette, IL. Not long after this, All American Life decided to move their printing operations to Schaumburg, IL. This meant another move. This time to Mount Prospect, IL where he and his wife raised their family until he retired.

In 1991 he retired. In August of that year he, along with his wife moved to Albuquerque, NM. Their son joined them, and their daughter soon followed. One of his favorite pastimes was Reading murder mysteries. He loved living in Albuquerque. When they first moved to Albuquerque they spent as much time as they could exploring Albuquerque and the surrounding area. He enjoyed traveling. Especially with his wife and family but was always happiest at home with his family here in Albuquerque. He was liked by all, and always had a smile on his face. He will be dearly missed by all.

Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
