In Memory of "Mr. Veri." Born October 7, 1944 to Albert Veri and Nancy Colella of New Castle, PA and passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022, in Albuquerque, NM.
He was first and foremost an Educator who "taught Kids" Interactive Physics and the Sciences for 35+ years in Salem, Ohio; Albuquerque, NM; and Oceanside, CA. He also spent 7 years in the IT industry at the NCR Corporation in Rancho Bernardo, CA. Teaching, however, was most important in his life.
He was known by some of his Albuquerque Students as "Mr. Science" and as" A True Gentleman" to Sandra, his wife of 52+ years. And who can forget the annual school bus trips to Physics Day at Magic Mountain in CA and that special trip to Space Camp in Huntsvillle, AL.
Richard has a strong work and education ethic instilled in him by his father, Albert. From the age of 12, he learned and honed carpentry and home renovation skills. As an adult, he and his wife purchased and renovated older homes to live in or rent. They were quite a Team and he is irreplaceable to her as she is to him.
At his request, his ashes will be scattered in San Francisco Bay to honor his love of learning at Institutions of higher learning such as Berkeley, UCSD, and UNM.
