Richard Lawrence Stygar Sr., age 84, and resident of Albuquerque since 1966, losing his battle with bladder and lung cancer, he passed at home on January 17, 2018, surrounded by his family.
He was born February 28, 1933. Richard proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a HM2. He is proceeded in death by his one true love and soulmate, Irene Frances Stygar. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his brother, Edward John Stygar II and wife, Nancy of Wonder Lake, IL; four sons, Richard L. Stygar Jr. of Albuquerque, Anthony Edward Stygar of Albuquerque, Timothy John Stygar and wife, Janet of Alamogordo, NM, and Randall Joseph Stygar and wife, Michelle of Sandia Park, NM; three daughters, Barbara Ann Doak and husband, David of Fairfield, CA, Michelle Frances Mandich and husband, William of Rio Rancho, NM and Johanna Julia Rondeau and husband, Robert of Albuquerque; and seventeen grandchildren. Richard is now reunited with his beautiful wife, Irene, dancing the Polish polka in heaven; and he continues to do things “HIS WAY!”
Friends may visit one hour prior to the Funeral Service Thursday, January 25, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH – Wyoming.
Interment will follow the service, 12:45 p.m. in Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thomas Stygar, Edward Stygar III, Anthony Stygar, Timothy Stygar, Randall Stygar, and Christopher Mandich.
