Richard Jacobs

Richard C. Jacobs of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on October 12, 2025, at the age of 65.

He is survived by brothers Michael and Eric Jacobs, sister in law Merry Jacobs, niece Jordan Jacobs, aunts Florence Leiman and Charlie Matracht, uncle Charles Rosenberg, several cousins and many close friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and June Jacobs; aunt Jane Rosenberg; uncle Albert Jacobs; uncle Alan Leiman; and cousin Jeffrey Kravitz; grandparents Marion and Herbert Matacht and Irving and Annette Jacobs.

Born June 1, 1960, in Brooklyn, New York, the middle son of Harvey and June Jacobs. The family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, when Richard was six months old, as his father was a dentist in the Air Force and stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base. As a child, Richard had a genius IQ and developed an interest in many things, including automobiles. Richard attended Albuquerque Academy for middle school and graduated from Sandia High School in 1978. When Richard was young, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, four-wheelers, and dune buggies with friends. For a short time, as a young adult, Richard sold cars as one of his first jobs. Some time later, Richard began working at Costco, where he was employed for over 20 years. During his employment at Costco, Richard earned the title of employee of the month for at least one month out of the year each year he worked at the company. At the time he left the company, his title was Maintenance Supervisor. Later, he worked as a mechanic and handyman for many years. Through this, he helped countless individuals both in his family and the local community. Throughout his life, Richard was a fan of NASCAR and frequently enjoyed watching races as a pastime.

Richard was very valued and respected by many. As a brother, uncle, and friend, he will be dearly missed.
