It is with great sadness that the family of Richard H. Follingstad announces his passing on Thursday, April 13, 2023. Richard was born in Chicago, Illinois to Betty and Dr. Alvin Follingstad on Sunday, November 9, 1941. He was a life long resident of New Mexico.
Richard is survived by his wife, Caroll, and daughter, Deborah; his twin brother, James, and older brother, Dr. Thomas Follingstad (Mary Kay). He is also survived by his sisters- in-law, Mary Helen (Michael) and Marion Reynolds (Tom); his nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Gretel, Eric, Jason (Trish) and Devon (Jen). He is also survived by many close and dear friends: Tom Doak and Suzanne Parker, Bruce and Sandy Selegman; his back packing and fishing brothers, his amazing Truchas buddies and special friend, Ina Miller.
Richard was a longtime respected financial advisor and a founding member of the Rotary Del Norte Club of Albuquerque. He loved the outdoors, backpacking, fishing, skiing, traveling, basketball, and his families cabin near Pecos, New Mexico, and the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or NDI of New Mexico.
