Rick W. Bigsby, 78 - a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, significant other, and friend - passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
Rick was born on August 31, 1946, in Albuquerque, NM, son of doctors Jenny and Aura Clayton Bigsby; he was the oldest of three boys.
Rick was a talented welder/fabricator and auto mechanic. Over the years he fabricated winches, lifts, toolboxes, and truck beds among other things while working at Cummins, C.W. Silver, and Truck Dealers. He retired in 1995 after a severe work injury that was out of his control.
He was an expert handyman and a man of many talents-from fixing cars to full apartment make readies, to building his den and toy room.
Rick's passion in life was his antique toy collection. His dad, "Grandpa Doc" got him started collecting as a young adult. Rick would take his family on annual vacations, on the hunt for toys and lawyer's bookcases. He enjoyed the connections and longtime friends he made while searching for and selling his antique toys. He shared this passion with his son.
He was married to his loving wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" C. (Raymond) for 28 years, who predeceased him on November 24, 1998. He is survived by his significant other, Cindy Hallock, of 22 years; his daughter, Gerri Beth Morgas and spouse Albert, and son, Rick C. Bigsby; and his grandchildren, Hope A. Morgas, Jake R. Bigsby, and Laurinda A. Armijo. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert L. Bigsby (Monica) and William L. Bigsby (Shari). He leaves many cherished nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and mother-in-law, Elizabeth "Betty" Raymond and father-in-law, Gerald C. Raymond.
Rick will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
