Richard Holden Berg

Richard Holden Berg (Dick) passed away peacefully in Scottsdale, AZ on November 14, 2023 at the age of 93.  He was born on November 17, 1929 in Alton, IL. He married the love of his life, Ruth Kishkunas, on June 11, 1952 while stationed in Key West, FL.

Dick was a Navy veteran and graduated from Marquette University in 1955, with a degree in electrical engineering. He then was hired at Sandia National Labs, retiring in 1985.  He was also an independent contractor at both EG&G and Holmes & Narver.

Dick loved flying becoming a licensed pilot in his teens. 

His hobbies included painting, photography, wine making, carving, studying New Mexico history and loved traveling.

He was proceeded in death by Ruth, his wife of 66 years; and his daughter, Mare, both in 2018.  He is survived by children, Bob and wife, Vikki; Sue and husband, Kevin Brown; Bill and wife, Jackie; along with 8 grandchildren: Erik, Charlie (Amy), Kelli (Preston), Valeria (Brynn), Veronika (Connor), Ellen, Rebecca, Carolyn; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jason and (on the way) Eloise.

A funeral service will be held December 8, 2023, 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain Rd NE.
