It is with great sadness we announce the passing, of Refugia (Ruth, Cuca) Gurule, at the age of 93, into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to her eternal dwelling in Heaven, on Monday August 3, 2020. Cuca, as most of her friends and family knew her, was a homemaker, housewife, mother of 5, grandmother of 10, and great-grandmother of many, many more. She devoted her life to her family and the upbringing of her grandchildren. She was very much involved in their lives, they all loved grandma dearly, and she loved each one in her own special way.
Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Tomas Gabaldon; and mother, Isabel Gabaldon; sisters, Senaida (Sennie) Lopez, Patsy Flores, and Betty Apodaca; brothers, Tommy Gabaldon, Salvador Gabaldon, and Eliseo Gabaldon; husband, Frutoso Gurule; daughter, Lorraine Quintana; sons, Rudy Gurule, Santiago (Jimmy) Gurule and Jessie Gurule; and two grandchildren, Rachel Rainey and Jessie Gurule. She is survived by her daughter, Isabel Vigil and son-in law, John J. Vigil III; daughter-in-law, Gina Gurule and her son, Kevin (Mack), sister, Vangie (Nina) Venable; grandchildren, Sara Sigala and her husband, Michael Sigala, Cassandra Vigil and her husband, Carlos Vigil, Melissa Rodgers and her husband, Christopher Rodgers, John J. Vigil IV and his wife, Angela Vigil, Jessica Casaus-Vigil and her husband, Michael Vigil, Yvonne Gurule, Angela Gurule, and Amanda Terrazas and her husband, Fabian Terrazas, and as mentioned, many great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held for the family on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 10:30 a.m., San Martin de Porres Catholic Church, followed by a graveside service at Mt. Calvary. Because of the Covid-19 restrictions, only invited family members can attend these services.
