Ramona Martinez

Ramona Elena Salazar Martinez - May 1, 1932 - October 8, 2023. Ramona Martinez went home to Our Lord on Sunday, October 8, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Roberto Martinez; and by daughters Roberta Sanchez and Debra Martinez. She is survived by her daughter Doris Martinez (Mark); and her sons Lawrence Martinez and Rob Martinez (Janice); her grandchildren, Bernadette Sanchez, Darla Espinoza (Charles), Carlos Sanchez, Larry Martinez, Manuel Alires, and Sheila Rivas (Oliver); eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Ramona was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Fermin Salazar and Dulcinea Ulibarri and had seven siblings, all of whom are now deceased. A life-long member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, she loved singing in the choir and dancing. She was the companion, wife and mother to a house full of musicians. She was calm, quiet and always dignified. Loved and respected by many, she will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Place NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico (Lomas and Pennsylvania) on Friday, October 20, 2023. The Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. and the Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
