Porfirio Benavidez, Sr.

My Dad passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025. He was my best friend and fishing partner. Valorie has now taken both roles. Dad signed for me to get into the Coast Guard, which was the best thing I have ever done in my life because of Dad. He lived a wonderful life at the young age of 82. He loved to fish, watch his Dallas Cowboys and hang out with his family. He will be very much missed.

He is survived by his children, Porfie Benavidez, Jr., Robert Benavidez, Beatrice Medina and Steven Benavidez; his son-in-law, Harold Medina and daughter-in-law, Valorie Lopez; his grandchildren, Frances Benavidez, Dominic Medina, Raquel and Tim Leyba, Erica Benavidez, Clarice Medina, Corbin Waquie and Thomas Porfirio Skidmore.

We will love you Dad forever!

A Rosary will be recited on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass at San Ysidro Catholic Church, 5015 Corrales Rd. Corrales, NM 87048.
