The heavens glow a little brighter as they have gained another star. Phyllis Gregory left her Earthly adventures behind while surrounded by those she held most dear on January 13, 2017.
Those who knew Phyllis will remember her laughter, kind heart, loving spirit, strong-willed nature, and her love for family and friends. Phyllis was born in Carlsbad, NM on March 15, 1961 and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1979. She then began her college education at Western New Mexico University in Silver City, NM, and soon after started a long career in the insurance industry. After a number of years, she returned to school and completed her education at WNMU in 2010, and thereafter attained her Registered Nurse license. She had a passion for serving, and was drawn to caring for the elderly and those with mental illness.
While she may have held a number of job titles, that of mother and grandmother were by far her most cherished roles. She is survived by her son, Zach Trower; her grandchildren, Logan and Harper Grace; her partner, Mark Lobb; parents, E.V. (Pete) & Helen Hester; sister, Kim (Lyndon) Denton, brothers, Bob (Pam), Jeff (Cindy) and Eric (Nichole); nieces and nephews, Lindsay Castillo and Karrah, Dylan, and Joshua Hester, and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
A private Celebration of Life ceremony was held by the family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Wells Fargo Bank under account number 7480740013.
