Permelia (Pam) Allgood passed away peacefully on July 12, 2024 at home. Following her graduation from Mississippi University for Women in 1969, Pam began exploring the country outside of Mississippi, traveling from coast to coast. Pam arrived in Albuquerque in the Spring of 1971. Finding herself temporarily out of funds, she sought employment as a layout artist with a local advertising agency. There she met her future husband and soon fell in love with New Mexico and its southwestern outdoor life style. Pam thoroughly enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, birding, golf and tennis. She was particularly fond of having brunch with her friends following Sunday morning-not-very-serious tennis, a long-standing tradition .
Pam retired from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 2006 after thirty-one years as a research tech.
She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Jerry.
If desired, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Friends are encouraged to raise a glass in toast and celebration and remember her fondly.
