Penny D. Herbert George

Penny D. Herbert George, 80, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 2, 2026. Penny was born on Saturday, February 2, 1946, to Dwight and Ivanell Herbert at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. A lifelong Albuquerque resident, Penny grew up in the city and attended Bel-Air Elementary School, McKinley Jr. High School, and Sandia High School, graduating with the class of 1964. Penny married James W. George, on Monday, February 14, 2000, in Reno, Nevada. Together, they shared many years of love, companionship, and memories. Penny spent her working years in reservations for Southwest Airlines before retiring. She was a member of the National Corvette Restorers Society, Hoffmantown Baptist Church, and Faith Lutheran Church. Penny was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jason C. Hart, and by her parents. She leaves behind her husband, Jim; her sisters, Dianne (Herbert) Allison and Joyce (Jerry) Soukup; and many nieces and nephews who will carry her memories with them. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
